Peddapalli, Feb 23 (UNI) Two persons were killed on the spot and two others injured when a car in which they were travelling turned turtle at Malyalapalli on Ramagundem-Rajiv Highway on Tuesday morning.

Police said the victims hailed from Narasaraopet, Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. They were selling gold ornaments to the gold shops in Telangana. They were having about Rs one crore worth of gold ornaments at the time of accident.

The injured were admitted to Government Hospital, Karimnagar.

The deceased were identified as Kotha Srinivas and Kotha Ramababu.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, police added.

Meanwhile, Ramagundem Sub-Inspector of Police Ms Sailaja appreciated the 108 staff when they were handed over the gold ornaments worth about Rs one crore to the police.
