Vijayawada: A 42-year-old hotel owner was allegedly sprayed with a toxic substance on his face by two unidentified miscreants leading to his death at Talluru village of Pedakurapadu mandal in Guntur district on Wednesday night. The deceased has been identified as Bhashyam Brahmaiah.
According to Pedakurapadu police sub-inspector Tirumal Rao, the incident took place late in the night when two persons barged into the deceased’s hotel and reportedly sprayed some toxic substance on his face and fled.
Upon being attacked, Brahmaiah called his friend and told him that he would go to the friend’s home and elaborate on what had happened. “However, the victim fell unconscious moments later. By the time employees and locals could take him to a hospital, he had passed away,” sub-inspector Rao told TOI.
Cops said that the two miscreants are yet to be traced. What’s baffling cops is the chemical used that caused him to die. No external injuries were found to indicate what the substance might be.“We have sent the body for post mortem. Based on the result, we will be able to ascertain the cause of death,” said sub-inspector Tirumal Rao. A murder case was registered at Pedakurapadu police station.
