Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh has reported 10,555 recoveries against 7,553 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours ending 9 am on Tuesday.

A Covid-19 bulletin said 51 more patients succumbed to the infection in 24 hours.

The coronavirus chart now read 6,39,302 total cases, 5,62,376 recoveries and 5,461 deaths.

The number of active cases plummeted to 71,465 on Tuesday.

The state so far completed 52.29 lakh sample tests at the rate of 97,931 per million population, turning out a positivity rate of 12.22 per cent against the national average of 8.52 per cent.

The recovery rate improved to 87.97 per cent against the national average of 80.86 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 0.85 per cent compared to the nations 1.60 per cent.

Guntur district crossed the 50,000 cases mark and Kadapa the 40,000 mark today.

East Godavari was the only district to report new cases in four digits, adding 1,166 to its tally that touched 88,935.

East Godavari also has the highest number of 11,862 active cases in the state with Prakasam coming next with 10,856.

Chittoor district reported eight more coronavirus casualties in 24 hours and crossed a total of 600, the highest in the state.

Guntur’s Covid-19 death count crossed 500 and Krishna and Visakhapatnams 400 on Tuesday.
