GUNTUR: In a goodwill gesture, BMR group of hospitals, which manages Sai Bhaskar hospitals in Guntur and Vijayawada, has come forward to extend complete free treatment for Covid-19 to the junior doctors in the state.
Sai Bhaskar hospitals managing director and state president of Arogyasri network hospitals, Dr Busireddy Narendra Reddy handed over the document promising complete Covid-19 care for the junior doctors association in Guntur on Friday. Dr Narendra Reddy said that they have taken the decision to extend their support to the junior doctors as they have been playing a big role in the fight against Covid-19 in the state. He added that YS Jaganmohan Reddy government had been providing best possible free treatment to the poor for Covid-19 in the state through different sources. He said that the government had in fact strengthened the public sector healthcare system while allowing the network hospitals to launch treatment under Arogyasri. Dr Narendra Reddy added that Andhra Pradesh is the only government that is providing complete free treatment for Covid-19 in both public and private hospitals.
“In this context, our colleagues-junior doctors in government hospitals have been in the forefront in providing services to the poor. We have decided to extend fullest support to our colleagues by providing free treatment in our hospitals to those contracted Covid-19,” said Dr Narendra Reddy. He said that junior doctors were relentlessly working to bring down the mortality rate of Covid-19 and helped several thousands of people recover from the virus.
