GUNTUR: A young medical professional Dr Kapu Venkatesh Chowdary from Guntur city has bagged 10th rank at the national level in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted for super-speciality courses.
He is planning to take admission into oncology stream in the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Dr Venkatesh had completed his graduation in medicine from NRI institute of medical sciences, Guntur and did his post-graduation from Manipal university.
After working at Manipal hospital for brief, Dr Venkatesh had recently joined Katuri medical college in Guntur. His father Veeraiah Chowdary is working as Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) in Central Power Distribution Company Limited (CPDCL).
“My parents Veeraiah and Sesharathnam and teachers were behind in realising my goals. They stood like a rock behind me. I will serve the poor after completion of my super-speciality in Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital,” said Venkatesh.
While his wife Naga Chinmai is pursuing post-graduation in dermatology, in-laws Botla Raghuprasad(ortho) and Parvathi (gynaecology) are also medical professionals.
Dr Venkatesh’s parents were hailed from a village and groomed him to become a doctor as it would give him an opportunity to serve the poor. All the senior officials of CPDCL including SE M Vijay Kumar, employees union leader AVV Prasad congratulated Veeraiah Chowdary on his son’s achievement at the national level test.
