In Kurnool district, four persons succumbed to the novel coronavirus, spiking the death toll in the district to 42 on Wednesday. With 76 new Covid-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours, Kurnool district remains on top of the state’s Covid-19 chart with a total of 1483. Kurnool is second in terms of death toll, while Guntur district has 43 Covid-19 fatalities.
In Anantapur district, the overall number of Covid-19 cases crossed the 1000 cases mark after 90 fresh Covid-19 cases were reported in the district which is already under a strict lockdown on Wednesday. While 1028 total Covid-19 cases have been reported in the district so far, 674 patients are still undergoing treatment at various Covid-19 hospitals in the district, while 7 Covid-19 patients have died.
In Chittoor district too, the overall number of Covid-19 cases shot up to 657 after 40 new cases were reported in the district on Wednesday. Six Covid deaths have been reported in the district so far which has 367 patients undergoing treatment at various Covid-19 hospitals.
24 new Covid-19 cases were reported in chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s home district Kadapa, where the overall number of cases spiked to 478. While one death has been reported in the district so far, 272 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospitals.
With fresh cases being reported in the district, collector CH Harikiran declared that 13 new containment zones were declared in the district to prevent the further outbreak of the novel virus.
